Civilisations 5
The new expansion just came out and I decided to buy the base game. It's actually really awesome, anyone else play?

Re: Civilisations 5
I played this game for a bit and it was pretty fun. I played as Russia in one skirmish, and I won by the Science route, which is building a space ship (fitting, isn't it?) I played as Germany before as well, and I liked that one too, but I feel Mother Russia calling back to me.

Re: Civilisations 5
I played a lot, I even played like a quarter of match with Blaze, too bad the matches are so long otherwise we might have finished eventually. Either way, It would taken a few days, a straight 1 sitting match is way too tiring.
The expansion was on sale in the morning for like 20 dollars something but I rather wait until December or something when it reaches 7, like Gods And Kings did.

That's a great idea, Cladstn. I was going to wait for the expansion until later, but it makes sense to buy it close to Christmas.

I'm just saying because Steam has their Winter sale during that time. And I doubt they would put it at 75% off right after release during the Summer sale but, the 33% sale wasn't bad, I was thinking about it.

I'm still getting used to the game, I still can't see the difference between nations.

Re: Civilisations 5
Once you get good with one civ you usually start seeing the benefits. You also have to use a civ that helps your play style.
Normally I choose France, they're my main since its easier to rack up culture and get all the my necessities to get my civ to boost production, and expand my borders and things like that. On the other hand someone like Blaze who uses Germany can easily expand his army early on. While I can only make units every so many turns, if he finds some barbarians he can increase his numbers quite fast.

Re: Civilisations 5
Yeah, but with Russia, they focus on production and resources. Whenever I work on a strategic resource, I gain one extra productivity, and whenever I work on a resource that gives me Horses, Iron, or Uranium, I gain double the amount. With both of these abilities, I can maintain a big army, establish good trade, and build space ship parts for victory.
