Re: Re: project
So far, all the active staff members and myself have been discussing the whole thing on the staff forum. We'd really like to see what your plan looks like, but as of right now we're pretty much sitting neatly on the fence about the whole thing.
Also if any staff has anything to add to this discussion, please do. I want to have everyone's opinion on the matter voiced before making a decision on this.

Re: Re: project
Well I was hoping some of the other staff would have added some input in this thread, but oh well, it kind of proves the point I'm about to make:
At this point in time, we don't have an active enough staff and userbase to adequately support you while you renovate the site, so unfortunately I'm going to have to decline your proposal at this time. We are however, planning a reboot of the site when Pokemon Black and White come stateside, so perhaps sometime in the future this won't be the case.
Thanks for you interest in our site though, and I apologize for the late response, I was hoping my staff would join in the conversation in this thread as well.
Sincerely,
Joe (Latios)

Re: Re: project
Sorry about that Latios, I was waiting for a response on the staff board a little sooner, but that didn't happen.
Lucian, there may be a few problems with what you want to do (assuming I understand it correctly). The first problem is that this website is hosted via Forumotion. In terms of customization, the maximum potential for a Forumotion lies with the HTML pages, which is basically all that you can do on your own. However, if using what we're hosting on now is not your intention, I may need some clarification. As for the design, I think we're all just waiting for some activity first, so we at least have a solid foundation to start up the new website, and if that doesn't happen, then we wouldn't be able to support the site adequately, as was said earlier. I think that's all that I have to say for now.

Re: Re: project
That was extremely helpful in answering some of my questions. In terms of advertising, that would be something to discuss with all of the admins, I myself have no say in that matter. Moving on, I would like to talk about the forum issue. While I agree that having forums as our only adequate system of locating a battle or finding any information is not helping anything, I must say that forums are usually very beneficial to a website, so taking them completely out may just ruin the chances overall. I am only speaking from experience, so you may have better knowledge than I have. However, forums provide a place to discuss other things when your members don't feel like battling and such. Along with that, it provides a place for discussions of the metagame and other practical information relating to the actual game (i.e. guides). Furthermore, forums create a community and help mold members. While these are just my opinions, it'd be nice if you take them into consideration. I believe that's all I have to say for now.

Re: Re: project
This is actually a problem; I payed for the domain via their service, but I don't think I have a receipt (?) or something like that for my purchase. As such, I have no idea what my password or account is to log in or register my domain or whatever on godaddy.com. I'm not entirely sure who legally owns the domain since I payed for it through forumotion and all that. (as you can probably tell, I'm not that adept with computers)If you participated in this program: http://help.forumotion.com/t10579-have-a-custom-domain-wwwmydomaincom and forumotion isn't allowing you to point your domain name (which you are paying for), please order them to do so. If they refuse, my company will contact them on your behalf. Domain-name owners have a right to define the DNS for their domains.

Re: Re: project
I've started the new Pokemon game, but I've been very busy this week so I haven't had much time to do anything else, I'm not sure about layout stuff yet. <_<
What exactly does the petition look like? I'm kinda curious how the whole thing works out...
