I think he deserves jail. No offense. He actually needs to die.

Re: Questions of the day
Well first of all he admitted murder in a book, and second he needs to have a death sentencing instead of 9-33 years.

He does not deserve to die, if he was killed for this it would be a double jeopardy and that is illegal in itself.

Re: Questions of the day
This is a separate crime. Double Jeopardy would only be if he were convicted of killing his wife, as he's already been acquitted from that crime and cannot be tried again.bennet3 wrote:He does not deserve to die, if he was killed for this it would be a double jeopardy and that is illegal in itself.
This particular case was just him being stupid. The punishment he got does not fit the crime. This should be a year or two at most in a medium security prison. So then why is he getting almost a decade in jail at the least? Because the public still hasn't forgotten about his wife's murder trial, and a great deal of people believe that he got away with murder. I suspect the judge in this trial was one of those people.

Re: Questions of the day
The only reason he got this long of a sentence is because they are judging him for his past crime, he should have been convicted then, but he was not. So in turn they are judging him for his murder and that is a double jeopardy.

Re: Questions of the day
They can't legally bring crimes which he has already been acquitted of into their minds when making the court ruling, you're right when you say that would constitute double jeopardy.
But he isn't being charged with the killing of his wife. It is a separate case altogether. Pubic opinion of OJ has been lowered due to the trial of his wife's murder, but because the judge and jury took into account OJ's history of misdeeds when they made the ruling, that doesn't constitute double jeopardy. You have to be legally charged with the same crime you were acquitted of for it to be considered double jeopardy.

I'm not trying to say he is "officially" being convicted with this again, but you can't deny that the decisions that were made were based off of that.

Re: Questions of the day
Well of course.
He was basically on lifetime probation after the murder trial.
I.E. if he messed up again, no matter how small the offense, he'd serve some serious time.

Nah,I don't think so.You see,in order to keep our freedom we have to send soldiors to fight. If we didn't fight,we'd be slaves by now.

Oh, that's your reasoning? So we went to Vietnam, Korea, and Israel, to defend the homeland?

Re: Questions of the day
No, right now if we wouldn't have gone to Israel in the late 1960s and early 1970s that area of the world would not hate us like they do now. And we should have never been in Vietnam, Korea we were just paranoid about the Soviets, what we did there allowed a leader like North Korea's Kim Jong il to come in to power.

Re: Questions of the day
The "the government caused 911" is just a crackpot theory, at least that's what I think.
There's no way the government would kill thousands of innocents just to prove a point or strengthen national opinion of a certain party.
