Which HG/SS team?

I'm playing through Heart Gold again, and I've just beaten the ghost gym and caught Red Gyarados. I have a couple pokemon, but I don't know what team I should use, I don't care about movesets and items, I'd just like to know which team would go best together.

Croconaw, Machop, Gyarados, Flaafy, Pidgeotto, Metapod. But i would switch it up when you get to some better pokes.
