Sky Battles and Horde Battles

As you've probably heard, in X and Y, there will be a few new battle types -- sky and horde battles. Sky battles will obviously be aerial, 1v1 battles, whereas the horde battles will be 1 of your Pokemon v. a whole bunch of another.

The sky battles sounds like a neat idea, though that brings up the question of how the Fly HM will work during this generation and how one encounters a sky battle. The horde battles will be awful, though. It's already frustrating enough going through caves and grass, but depending on how these work, it might be even more frustrating. "A horde of zubats appeared!"

What do you guys think?

i kind of like the idea of horde battles, it may make training easier, you get the exp. points from 5 pokemon in one battle, provided the pokemon you're using is strong enough. Sky battles remain being a mystery, but it looks to me that flying isn't just gonna be the way we're used to.

Assuming Hordes are fairly common, training will be very easy with this list

One problem with hordes is that you can only hit one at a time unless you have something like earthquake or surf. So at the beginning, they could potentially make the game somewhat of a challenge.

From that point of view, this game looks even better. most pokemon games, other than competitive battling, aren't much of a challenge sometimes.

I usually do a good job of struggling on one gym every game, so any additional challenges are welcomed.

It seems like Horde Battle might be a mini-game, so to speak. It looks similar to the Final Fantasy IV DS mini-game with Cecil battling Goblins, but in that one, you just tap the Goblins to kill them. Sky Battle with have Pokemon with Levitate, but I'm wondering if Pokemon that can learn Fly that aren't levitating or Flying-type will be included, like Golurk.

Imagine, a horde of zubat, every time you walk 2 spaces in a cave. I think this should be good I would be disappointed if they didn't have zubat, or woobat. Or maybe it's a replacement for Shaking Grass with Audino, to get more EXP.

All that's left it to start combining things Sky Horde Battles.

well, zubat/woobat hordes every two steps would be a very annoying thing.

Ha, and imagine Tentacool and Geodude as well.

Worse yet, explosion or self-destruct. On Nuzlocke. With no Ghost, Rock, or Steel-type.
