The Sudden Death Tournament

The 5th tournament in the WWPL Season Two Tournaments, a twelve-person round robin tournament.

RULES

6 on 6.
1 Uber allowed.
When one pokemon faints that trainer will lose (hence Sudden Death).
Banned moves: 1HKO attacks (Horn-Drill, Fissure etc), Self fainting moves (Explosion, Self-destruct etc), Accuracy modification moves (Double-Team, Sand Attack etc) and moves/ abilitys that prevent switching (Mean-Look, Arena-Trap etc).

I bet you're wondering what this "round robin" thing means, well here's a definition:

In each group:
Person A will battle Person B.
Person B will battle Person C.
And Person A will battle Person C.
The results of these matches will determine who comes first, second and third in the group.
ie, if person A beats both person B and C then person A wins.
Then if person B beats person C, person B will come second.
If there is a three way tie (eg Person A beats Person B whom beats Person C whom beats Person A)
then scores are taken based on how many pokemon each person won with.
Then if there is a two way tie (after scores), the person who won between the two tied people is the
winner of the group, the person who lost is classed as second place and the person with the least
points is last in the group.
If there is a three way tie the battles will be done again, however all fainted pokemon can't be used
again.

Uber-Pokemon that are too powerful in competitive battling and most likely banned under some conditions.

These pokemons best fit the list for Ubers.

Deoxys Atk
Dialga
Giratina
Groudon
Kyogre
Latias
Latios
Lugia
Mewtwo
Palkia
Rayquaza

You may only use one of these for this tournament.

OU stands for overused, pokemon that are best suited to the competitive level.

These terms belong in the tier list and tier lists vary in different sites.

One small corrections, all of the Deoxys forms except for Speed are Uber, and I don't really know if Deoxys-S is officially OU yet. Also all of these which that list left out, just in case the person who asked doesn't check the links.

Smogon's tier list is much more reliable than Neoseeker's.

Also, more on topic. I may enter this tournament if my wireless router arrives soon. I'd just need to know when it starts.Which was basically the point of this post.

Edit:Actually, Neoseeker's newest tier list is pretty accurate. A few discretions here and there.

We plan to start this tournament on Friday February 29th, 2008 at 7 o' clock p.m. eastern time.

I didn't include those 6 pokemons since most big sites include them in the Demi-Ubers list and i wasnt sure on what this site should have it as since we have not made a tier list yet.

This tier comes just after the Uber list and before the OU list.

Demi-Ubers- Pokemon that may or may not be too good for OU.

Deoxys Speed has been classed as OU, all other "Demi-Ubers" will be classed as Uber for this tournament.

If it's not too late, and there's room for me, I'd like to enter this tournament. I'm 99.5% sure I'll have WiFi by Tuesday or Wednesday, but if I don't have it by the time you decide to
make the match-ups, count me out, I don't want to mess up anything.

Actually, that was the first time I have ever seen a "Demi-Ubers" tier. It's actually very unnecesary and creates too many unneeded tiers, but they don't have that anymore at Neoseeker anyway, I guess they realized that and created their new tier list found here, which is much more accurate.

I agree that its unnecesary, i didnt include them since i didn't know what this site would consider like i have said before,but anyways like Ghost said Deoxys speed is classed as an OU here and the rest are ubers.

IMO the sooner a tier list is made for this site it would make things much easier and simple.

This is getting kind of off topic, but look at this. Legendary =\= Powerful or Uber

Also, so this post isn't spam. Are the rules on the OP the only rules, or are do all of the other rules and clauses apply also? Just making sure, and is it alright if I use 3 Leftovers on my team? I'm really at a loss as to what to give the 3rd lefties holder, and it provides an essential type resist to my team, so a substitution is impossible.

all other standard WWPL rules and clauses apply unless otherwise mentioned in the OP.

also, we plan to have a definite site tiers list out soon. Until then, go by smogon.
