Merging to Platinum.

Since Pokemon with new forms can't use them when facing an opponent playing Diamond or Pearl there maybe problems when people try to use Sky Shamin or the new Rotom forms.

When something like this comes up we can use Shoddy, limit tournaments to Platinum copies of the game (everyone must use Platinum) or limit to D/P forms.


Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Well until it comes to the USA tournaments should be limited to D/P.

Actually there is no difference between the forms, both Platinum and D/P connect.

Forms new to Platinum will revert back to the D/P forms when connected to D/P (eg Sky Shamin will revert back to normal Shaymin when Platinum is connected to D/P) as such the new base stats (and in Giratina's case, ability) the pokemon will aquire in Platinum with there alt forms may change depending on what game the opponent is using.

The Sprite will change but i'm not so sure about the stats and ability, i've seen some battles on Youtube and it just seems to be the Sprite but not anything else such as ability, moveset and stats. I will test that once i get Platinum.

I think platinum should be banned from our tournaments for the sole reason of look at the new move sets pokes are getting.

That still won't stop people from trading to Platinum then trading back to D/P with the new move sets.

Besides, there are about four move sets I would like for my pokemon. >_>

When Platinum does release in the US, and when many members get it, how is this going to work then? Do we just continue to use D/P?
