Fairy Pokemon
What are your thoughts on them? So far we only know (for certain) that it's strong against Dragon. It currently includes: Marill, Gardevoir, JigglyPuff (and most likely all threes evolutionary chains), Sylveon and Flabébé.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
Clefairy and its family is probably Fairy-type as well, and maybe Snubble. I hate Fairy-types, though. Completely unnecessary.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
I like fairy type, they're just that. It's a fairy-type, It's basically like anything else, you like the designs does it matter its type. They should make Gliscor a fairy type, I would be up for that.
But yeah its completely unnecessary and I don't think they'll make that much of a difference overall unless you're utterly stupid and think oh Fairy Beam is the end of all of dragons, because from the looks of it right now why would you use Fairy over Ice. They could of made 3 new ice moves, Ice Gun, Ice Hammer, Ice Throw. Make them more accessible to other types and you could greatly hinder Dragons. Fairy might help Ubers since Reshiram, Dialga & Palkia aren't hit super effectively, but most dragon types are 4x weak to Ice not Fairy. Once we see complete resistance and weakness it might become clearer.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
Yeah, I hate it that they created Fairy because Dragon type is becoming "more overpowered", which isn't the case really. They only hit themselves super effectively and are only weak to two types, which helps their status as powerful other than becoming harder to train.
Although I dislike Fairy-type, I feel that it will make competitive a bit more fun than usual. With team preview and OU being dominated by weather, competitive gave me a bitter taste. Nowadays, I generally just play Random and RU/NU, but hopefully this add-on will not be like Gen V.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
Maybe they're just aiming to increase the female demographic and they just said it was for balancing because the hardcore pokemon players might not be able to accept a new type otherwise like Blaze.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
I don't think this will change much. Dragons types will still be levelling in the 50's whilst everyone else levels in the 36's.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
Since Marill is part Fairy, I'm guessing Azumarill will be part Fairy as well. Do you think it will change Azumarill's position in the standard metagame? Huge Power + Choice Band combo has been its weapon since Generation IV, but Fairy-type gives it a more unique weapon if it gains a physical Fairy-type move. I think it'll boost Azumarill's use, but to be put in OU or BL might be going too far.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
I doubt having Fairy-Stab might do anything, if you look at it, it all depends on coverage. If it doesn't provide good coverage, what benefit does it have over having Ice Punch. And whether it goes up in tier depends on resistance and weaknesses. If it has better resistances over common threats it could go up, but with a second type also comes more weaknesses.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
Fairy-type could help Azumarill defeat other Water-types, but Ice Punch just may be better against Grass-types now that I think about it. The only other good coverage move Azumarill has is Superpower, and it doesn't hit a lot of Pokemon that resist it super effectively.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
I don't see it being overly useful, if it hits more things than Superpower it could give it a slight edge. But we also have to see Base Power of moves. I think its too early to be contemplating if something will become better until we have more details.
What I wonder if any moves are going to be reclassified as Fairy.

Re: Fairy Pokemon
It's not exactly the most creative idea that they've come up with.
@Cladstn: I don't think that it would be tremendously hard to find moves to call fairy. I feel like it will probably bring about a new reflect-type move.
@Latios Unfortunately it is.
I haven't read up much on it, but are there any new evolutions (considered fairy)?

They just announced that Jigglypuff, Marill, and Gardevoir were part Fairy, but that's it.

Well, in Generation I, Bite was Normal, so maybe some Normal-types will switch to Fairy as well. Maybe minor moves like Heal Bell, Assist, Attract, or Charm.

...I do....
But I honestly can't think of any attacking moves that would be changed to Fairy.

I doubt it, only like 6 pokemon have that move, and none of them seem overly likely to become Fairy.

You know now that I think about it, I wonder what cool fairy dual types we'll see. Which ones are going to suck and which ones are going to be good.

I bet you they make some legend (mew) half fairy and it'll be stupidly overpowered somehow. <_<

Though I can imagine that there will probably be new status moves classified as fairy, and probably another recovery move.
