Persian may not seem such a great Pokemon by just its stats itself, but it's a great scouting Pokemon that hits hard. With Technician boosting its mediocre attacks, two set-up moves for both Attack and Sp. Attack, incredibly high Speed, and access to Fake Out + U-turn makes this Pokemon extremely useful. However, Persian cannot take a lot of blows, and if a move doesn't OHKO it, it will most likely 2HKO it. Persian also cannot switch into a lot of Pokemon and can only come in for revenge kills.

However, don't be afraid of using the Pokemon. With the right strategy, teammates, and key switchings, you can easily turn the tide of the battle.

Movesets:
Persian @ Life Orb / Silk Scarf
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly nature
Technician ability
~Fake Out
~Return
~U-turn
~Bite/Hypnosis

This is a standard scouting set. Fake Out is for first-hit priority that deals a surprisingly decent amount of damage. Return also deals a good amount of damage, U-turn is to scout, and Bite can OHKO a Haunter, Kadabra, and 2HKO Golurk. However, if you need a sleep move, Hypnosis is always an option, though its 60% accuracy is frowned upon. I usually use Silk Scarf because Life Orb's recoil usually kills Persian for me.

Persian @ Life Orb
4 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spd
Timid/Modest nature
Technician ability
~Nasty Plot
~Swift
~Water Pulse
~Thunderbolt/HP Fighting/Icy Wind

Most opponents predict a scouting set on Persian, so you can surprise them when they switch by using Nasty Plot. With Nasty Plot, Persian's Sp. Attack rises to 459, allowing it to deal major amounts of damage. Swift is for STAB, and with Technician, it rises to 135 base power. Water Pulse is for coverage against Rock-types and deals normal to Ghosts. The last option is up to you, truly. Thunderbolt is the best option if you fear Relicanth or Gorebyss setting up on you, Hidden Power Fighting helps decimate Bastiodon and Probopass, and Icy Wind is a nice option if you predict a scarf user switching in or to destroy Cradily and any other Grass-types.

Persian @ Life Orb
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly nature
Technician ability
~Hone Claws
~Return/Fury Swipes
~Bite
~Hypnosis/Iron Tail/Seed Bomb

A self-created set, this one is similar to the Nasty Plot set in terms of setting up. Hone Claws increases Persian's Attack to 358, and makes its accuracy pretty nifty. Return is for STAB, but if you're feeling lucky, Fury Swipes with Technician and STAB has a base power of 40, and if it hits all five times, that's 200 base power. Bite is for coverage, and the last option is, again, up to you. Hypnosis has a good 80% accuracy, Iron Tail now has a 99% accuracy and can hit Rock-types extremely hard, and Seed Bomb does good damage to Relicanth, Gorebyss, Seismitoad, and Gigalith.

I think we should wait a little for this kind of stuff, get it going once 7th gen battling comes. Then everyone comes to us, for good sets... or something like that.
Also, is that text exportable to PS, I think it would be really nice if it was, just find a set you like copy and paste, and done.
