Latios's road to the Championship
WWPL's Season One Tournament of Champions Winner-- Latios
~Latios entered the Season One ToC as the odds on favorite due to his dominance and his undefeated record, but some thought that because of his recent wifi troubles, that he wouldnt be able to enter, or at the very least, be rusty from the lack of competition... he proved his dissenters wrong by winning the first ToC in dominating fashion.
Round One (6-0)#1 Latios over zan
~Latios knew that he would need a strong start in order to have a shot at winning the ToC. He did just that, sweeping past zan, the old school tournament champion in round one, and entered the semi finals with his entire team in tact.
The Semi-Finals (5-0)#1 Latios over Hypergamer
~In the second round, Latios faced fellow admin hypergamer, who was battling in wolf's (the double down tournament winner) stead. It was a six on six matchup, as neither battler had lost any pokemon in round one. Latios worked his usual strategy, but two successful hypnosis attacks pushed him to the wall. After getting a lucky awakening and critical hit, Latios and his Groudon swords danced past hypergamer's defensive wall and stealth rock took out his final pokemon, ninjask.
The Final Match (4-0) #1 Latios over #3 bennet3
~In the Final Match, it was the battler on a hotstreak, bennet3, having won the last Season One Tournament over sarge51, versus the near-legend Latios, with a 129-0 record on the line. Latios entered the battle with five pokemon, bennet entered with four. Latios went all out in his final match, losing his lead, but finishing the match with a few key swaps and a dramatic finish by his closer, Overdrive. A critical hit by Draco Meteor did in bennet3's signature pokemon, electivire. Latios had earned his 130th win, and secured his spot in the WWPL Hall of Fame.
